The natural fiber taken off the shell of the nut is known as the Coco fiber. Coco peat we call the rest of the marrow. Both things together - the shell (skin) plus the peat is the so called coir.

Coconut palms are basically found at tropical areas - such as Philippine, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia ... App. 12,167,000 hectare of Coconut palms are found worldwide (status quo 2006). The main producing regions are Sri Lanka and India. There is a long tradition in harvesting and processing coconuts at this area.

The Headquarter of our manufacturing base you can find at the "Coco-Triangle" at Sri Lanka - the biggest producer of coir.
